Friday Friday Friday

Well Happy Easter to everyone,

I just sat through our bug tracking details report and then Dan did a walk through on the working application.

It seems like I will be doing my testing on Saturday, but that should not be a problem.

Test Scripts

Scripts complete as far as I can tell.

Met with Dan and the development group today.
They were working on the website. They seem to really pulling it together and backing each other up, which is good cause in the beginning of class they didn't seem to care. Progress seems to be made on many fronts of the project war.

Calender is graphically, and stylishly complete. Still having issues with content. Trying to work past the roadblocks.

Posters Everywhere

This week took and interesting turn when i was assigned the task of creating the class poster with Oren. All week we have been throwing ideas at each other and now since Prof. Oakes wants to see two posters. We no longer have to try and compromise on our totally different layout schemes and ideas.

The rough draft for mine is done at least concerning the layout, now filling the poster with the written word is going to be a little more difficult, but no where near impossible.

So starting tomorrow morning i will be doing my best to create a concise, clear and cohesive poster.

Development mitigation

Dan and I spoke with the development group. We have addressed the problem with their "modus operandi". They have been informed of the fact that they need to bring any and all problems to me or Dan before the deliverable is due and not on the day of or after the date.

This weeks assignments:
  1. Work with Dan on any Develpment Problems
  2. Work with Oren on the Class Poster .

Development

This is an interesting beginning of the week. Dan has created and assigned some C# lessons for the development group. The original one was a failure of a lesson but the second lesson seems to be going well. While Dan's group is the only one responsible for these assignments. Myself, Wade, and Sam have also decided to try these lessons, so that we can be helpful with the future development.

To-Do's :
  • Working on the coding
  • Working on handling the Development Team
  • Making sure that we are on schedule.

Development Team

Well the week is over and their is a take no prisoners policy in place.

We have implemented the mitigation strategy:
  • Sam is currently working on his programming skills
  • Wade is also working on his programming skills
This way if it is necessary to replace any of the development team members. We will have the man power for that is necessary to back up any decisions to remove a member. Which will hopefully be unnecessary, and only a last ditch attempt to save the project.

Requirements, Requirements, it's a flood of REQUIREMENTS

Well it is Monday and myself, Sam and Wade. Have handed in the requirements that we were assigned. Now we need to pick up some of the slack.

I will be meeting with Dan to go over the Development's requirements that have not met the necessary work standards.

  • At this point we will review all of the requirements submitted and then make any appilicable and necessary changes.
  • I will also be working compiling the Standards Requirements (Legal Requirements)

Legal Considerations

For the Legal considerations, I have taken a look at PCI DSS and OWASP's (Top 10 MOST CRITICAL WEB APPLICATION SECURITY VULNERABILITIES).

More research is continuing but as of this stage. I have researched the required guidelines that our employer business must have in place and I have done the research on the organization that our employer recommends to all of their developers understand and follow.

Contemplating Kinjal

Well I just finished watching the latest entry to the Sundance film festival. The director Dan Herbert has created another stunning master piece.

For Kinjal, I now have my questions ready.
  1. Where does the company see this application in 3-5 years?
  2. Recently our team leaders met with the President and Vice president of your company. Have either of those gentleman realized that they might of overlooked something in the planning session or maybe had something brought to their attention recently that we need to build into this application?
  3. The guard dog security requirements, when building this application to work with guard dog will we be able to just insert the guard dog code or do we need to write fresh code that will call on the guard dog service?

BaseCamp - Basic Info

BaseCamp will be the progress management software that we will be using so that we can keep the whole group on track.

It offers:
  • a calender feature
  • a milestone feature
  • and a to do list
I will be preparing a interactive presentation for the class. Once, we have a account, because at this point i have only worked with the trial version and i am unsure whether the trial version is any different than the max version or whatever version the school purchases.
